this is the spotted butterfish/spotted scat/scatophagus argus (linnaeus)( and are not regarded as tablefish, if only because of their foul eating habits in poluted harbour.the scientific name-scatophagus translates to:feeder of dung.) quoted in the bible.

Once again, there is no argument here, it IS a Sicklefish.

I don't know what a thumbwacker is JP, but if it means passing guesses off as facts and feeding misinformation, then congratulations, you made the list.

Do a google image search of a spotted scat and a sicklefish, then tell me if you still believe its a Scat.

yep thanks swindells, thumbwacker i was this time. you know the old saying, you hit the nail on the head, well i missed. googled and yes this would be 100% sicklefish . it wasnt quite a guess, in grants guid to fishes it only had a picture of the scat and not off the sicklefish. both look similar but you can clearly see the difference.

Is the Spotted scat the same as a Happy moment.

Another nasty little thing to catch in that area is the carnivorous purple spotted bristle worm. anyone else caught one of those?
