Sickle fish mate, not bad on the fang either
when i was a lad many moons ago,did a lot of fishing in the area, namely Bakers creek, we called them butter bream.very good eating!
Sickle fish, great eating mate, nice catch. they actually get pretty big, we get them through the river occasionally
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
Spotted scat, it's latin name is Scatophagus Argus

Definetly not a scat, though they do look similar. scats have venomous spikes, whereas the sicklefish is quite harmless.

I've been catching them for years, trust me... Sicklefish.
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
some have hit it on the head whilst others are just wacking there thumbs
this is the spotted butterfish/spotted scat/scatophagus argus (linnaeus)( and are not regarded as tablefish, if only because of their foul eating habits in poluted harbour.the scientific name-scatophagus translates to:feeder of dung.) quoted in the bible.
