Is this an eel Tailed Catfish and are these the standard Colours and how big do they get? Are they common for these waters, This was caught in Maroochy River on a Soft Plastic.

You sometimes see them in massive schools around the area mate. Have had the pleasure of throwin the cast net over them before.

They do sting, and as Keith said, it's a nightmare when you castnet a hundred of the buggers in one go! Pesty little buggers.

They hang around in big schools, and as said dont throw a net over them. just treat them carefully!

Last time I went prawning ,had the pleasure of netting about 50 in one throw, and got stung getting the little critters out of the net.... ouch.
