Cardwell, Hinchinbrook

I'm going to Cardwell in a couple of weeks, can anyone of you out there help me with a couple of gps points not to far from the island for reef fish and which creeks are the better ones for lure casting for jacks or barra.

Hey Mate,

I can't help you out to much with exact locations as i prodominately fish the southern end of the channel, but as for the reef marks, we tend to not have too many on the reef itself becuase the fish gennerally move around a fair bit... your just going to have to go out and try to find them... just look for big bait schools on the dropoff's around the reefs 20-30m mark, this is where we get the majority of our trout.. if you have a good show of bait on the dropoff but no decent fish try burleying a bit... for the creek fishing i don't know too much in terms of locations but anything with good structure for jacks, prefferable in the narrowest but deepest creek you can find and for barra's try fishing currentlines and backwashes where there is a good chance for bait to be passing by...
