    Hey Scalem,

we are using those collapsable mud crab style pots. we have 4 heavy duty ones that we got through a pro, only problem is they are so hard to erect we just keep them up the whole time, as seen in avatar. Other 4 pots are lighter guage, cheaper ones that you see at your typical tackleshops (blue net). we just had to replace one for this trip, black net under 30 bucks, slightly heavier than the blue ones. It caught the most Must be cos it was new and shiney

    Hi Two Dogs,
I have a question for you ? I hope you dont mind . When you go to Kooringal do you get there via blue Hole ?

I recently tried to go to Kooringal for the first time in my boat. I left from Manly and headed to Reeders PT up the Rouse .The tide was dropping and it was only 3 foot on the sand bank so I didnt go for it .I have a 5.4M boat but was worried I might not make it out later.
    Cheers.

you wont make it through from the blue whole at low tide you want it to be atleast 2 hours on the flood in and no later then 3 hours on the flood out but from reeders point you should make it most tides if it to low to access through brown gutter into black gutter just go south a little further towards straddie there are gutters that come through into days gutter there not deep but they will give you 6ft to get through.
