Getting sounder reading at speed?
Hi All,
I have installed my Lowrance X136DF, it it giving me the correct depth reading when I am at trolling speed, but at any speed greater than that the screen is blank.
What can I do to get a signal at a greater speed, do I need to lower the transducer, or is this a setting issue.
Cheers.

Re: Getting sounder reading at speed?
Hey mate,
This is more than likely a transducer issue, but when we are putting a new sounder in we like to have all the settings in automatic (just till we make sure it all reads properly) this normally leaves all the issues that you will have to the transducer. When on the plane we have our transducer so the top of it is just showing out of the water or just submerged. if you do this it may cause a bit of spray to come up from the back but its just a matter of slightly adjusting it till it stops. if you have it too low you will find when travelling through creeks you'll get a lot of leaves and sticks getting hooked on it. Another thing to look at is the angle its on.. it should be roughly the same angle as the bottom of the boat if not angleing slightly forward.
