Pricing, Etec ~ Opti

Did a small ring around today looking for prices on a pair of 115's, local bayside dealers, some food for thought for prospective buyers

Opti's: $12'800.00 ea
Etec's: $ 17'000.00 ea

Both counter rotating

+ fittup

Was told that the new Etec pricing is inline with comparative 4 bangers, 4K more than Opti's

Only 2 dealers rung

we just got a 150 etec for 18700 fitted the 130 etec was 16000 fitted this was what only a couple of weeks ago.. ring around it doesnt really matter were u buy them aslong as u have someone to service them near u. we went all the way up to noosa as the guys down here wanted 22600 fitted for a 150 etec... big difference!

Will the manufacturers just wake up and realise that 20k for 150hp is just too much coin.

These prices regardless of brands are getting silly for what you get.

Diesels are going to come into their own at not much more dollars.

Diesel outboard will be released in USA this coming season and be interesting to see the pricing and longevity..

I have just been through this a few weeks ago with a single 115hp

$14,500 Opti fitted with Hyd steer = TOTAL $14,500
$15,800 E-tec PLUS fitting PLUS Hyd steer = TOTAL $17,600
18,700 Suzuki fitted with Hyd Steering = TOTAL $18,700

It was really a no brainer!!

I would have thought being that the economy was slower the prices would have been more competitive (obviously not!!) but I do like Opti's anyway, so Mercury got my hard earned coin.

unless you chose a 4 stroke strictly for trolling performance.. I just cant see how anyone can go past the opti...
