Spent most of the night getting my gear ready, rigging for taylor off the rocks, big flatties on plastics, whiting on poppers and making sure the backpacs were packed. Got to bed about 1130, woke at 250 set off about 315. 2 1/4 hour drive to hastings pt hoping to catch a feed . About half hour out and the sky turns orange TOO LATE - got down there and had to have a crack. Dead low tide MASSIVE swell ended up loosing about 5 slugs in 2 hours B4 the swell started lapping my feet every 10 sets or so.
Time for something different. I noticed a gutter and a sheltered bay on the beach near the rocks I was fishing off. Spent an hour casting placies - not a touch. Packed up went to the estery casting some 2inch snap backs on 2lb line to see if I could get a bream or ting with a couple of hits and 2 small flatties got to the bridge and hooked a blackfish. I dont eatem and a family were fishing nearby so I gave it to them. I had a few casts on the other side of the bridge a fella from jindabine was there using bait, saw me ctch another couple of small flattie and got talking about plastics. Gave him a couple of 3 inch gulp grubs in pumpkin seed 3 casts he had a 50+cm flat 2 more casts 40cm flat. I wasnt gunna let him outfish me rigged a heavier jighead and went looking for old faithful 3inch minoow in pumpkin seed - non in the bag, anything in pumpkin seed - non at all - gave them to the noob. So I stole 1 back 50 casts nuttin.
Went to pottsville chasing bigger flats - it had been slow so I stuck with the lighter gear (2lb braid - 6 lb FC 3/8 JH with a 7in gulp) DUMB. Casting from the bridge 20 casts then 60+ flat follows it up, swallowed it, went to set it -** SNAP** at the braid.

Decided to go to Tweed but went on the nod about 3km up the rd -pulled over for a quick kip- 2HRS LATER woke up 330pm. Drove to tweed - BIG ROD this time 10 casts clunk YES zzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ slack - Spat it. @##$$##@@ ^%$^%^$& Ok - It was a big girl - where theres a big girl theres more males next cast ***Clunk*** not a bad fish @56cm. Another hour and no more hits.
