Moreton Bay Water Quality Fear

Some of the biggest pollution is coming from the brisbane container wharfs, and the dredging going on both at the rivers mouth and at middle banks.
They are slowly destroying the ecology of the bay and it close inshore environment the nutrient areas that produce the food at the start of the food chain.
It doesnt help either when the pro's are decimating the bait fish populations, and they could give two shits as long as they are making a profit.
As we came into the river late saturday night there were 3 ships leaving, and all were pumping their bilges out as they started to enter brisbane road heading out.

speaking of Middle Banks - A few years ago when I was working on a Charter Boat - The Brisbane Airport Corporation hired the boat to do a "promotional video" off Moreton about dredging Middle Banks to use for the new runway.(more like removing the whole lot from what I understand) They had their "scientist" saying no destruction would come to the bay from it (yeah right). Has anyone else heard of this or has it been swept under the carpet like everythig else? I was told the tape would be available from the BAC if requested. Would be interested to see if it still a plan? Sammy
