Mate, squeeze it onto a piece of paper or cardboard first, mix it well then use. It is very effective if used on dissimilar metals.
Hi All,
Bought some Durolac for some stainless screws going into the alloy. I've never used it before, but what's coming out of this tube is nothing short of a mess. It's essentially coming out in two separate parts. Soft yellow goo, and a mass of runny brown liquid!
I've tried shaking the tube (Hey, it was worth a shot), I've tried kneeding the tube, but it's still pouring out like some two part mix. I'm assuming that it's probably from sitting on it's lid on the shelf for 12 months before I bought it, but it's proving to be pretty much worthless.....
Any ideas/experiences?
Cheers!

Had the same thing. Pain in the B!
Squeezed the whole tube into a small glass (babyfood) bottle and mixed it up well, problem solved. Forms a skin on top after a few months but otherwise fine.

Thanks ML, I'll give that a try...
My concern about mixing it on cardboard or similar would be getting the ratios right.
I have had the same problem myself. Also had never seen anyone else use the stuff so I hadn't known any better.
The idea of puting it in a jar seems a great idea.

G'day
Take it back and get a replacement. Similar thing happened to a can of Vuplex for me.... not enough propellant for the size of the can, took it back, replaced without question.
Sitting a shelf for too long or inadequate manufacturing, either way, take it back.

Yep my tube of duralac is the same. I don't think its a big deal really, just squeeze out and mix on a bit of cardboard and its good to go.
They should really make smaller tubes because you dont really use that much...
I wish they would make smaller tubes of sikaflex too!
Just don't get the stuff on your hands, pretty sure it's carconegenic ...... I'm sure I didn't spell that right but it's cancer causing
best stuff to use is called tef-gel it is white and is easy to clean up hope this helps
Advice I recieved from a man who should know for screws that hold up my T Top and are put in and taken out every trip is that you can also use sunscreen. A lot cheaper and not carcinogenic.
