    se sport hydrofoil

hi ausfishers, was wondering if anyone has installed a se sport hydofoil to a honda 50.with the use of the drill free clip system.my trouble is the bottom plate of the clip,if its to go were it says will interfere with the water pick up.then if u pull it back so it clears it,will have a gap at the back of the cavatation plate, will this afect the performance of the hydroil?if anyone has fitted one of these or knows anything about this, your information wold b appreciated.

    cheers bigred.

If you feel that your rig needs a foil then buy the se that has the nuts and bolts. I have one fitted to a honda 50, it was not that hard. Just be careful

    Re: se sport hydrofoil

I guess to start at the very beginning, why are you fitting the foil? and from my experience with anything that has clips and stuff and is "universal" fitting, actualy means it fits nothing properly, but everything sort of!

well thats the point of using the the clip method, too see if the hydrofoil is actually gunna do what i have been told it will do,b4 i have to drill holes in my cav plate.an the so called clip is in two pieces that bolt together.

but you still have not told us what you are trying to achieve! regardless of how the foil is fitted, do not just fit one "because"

Foils are normally a bandaid solution to the real problem. As Noel asked, whats the actual problem you are attempting to rectify?

So did you use the drill free clip or not?
I am in the market for a drill free clip if you have one for sale.

    Cheers.

    Re: se sport hydrofoil

I saw the clip variant a while back now in a pic or TV, forget now, it looked like a block of flats fitted to the vent plate, foils need all the help they can get fixing a setup problem...didn't think it was possible but now the only thing worse than bolting a foil onto the engine is clipping one on.

    cheers fnq
