    Re: plastics in the surf!!

Hi I fish sp's in the surf a bit and find as with most sp fishing the lighter jigheads tend to work the best but it is condition dependent there is no point tossing a 1/16 oz jighead into big surf the bigger jigheads are still ok to use. Flathead are great beginner targets as are Tailor flick baits worked quickly are the go for tailor and bounce then along the bottom for flathead. dart also like sp's in the surf. I tend to use largeish size sp's such as 110mm and up. Big sp's work well for Jew too. The main key with jighead size is allowing you to feel the lure if the lure is being tossed around you wont feel hits. Check some of my other posts about this topic or ask any questions. I fish a specialist loomis rod and 300-4000 reels teamed with 6lb when fishing the surf occasionally I up the line to 10lb if bigger jigheads are used.
If the tailor are around use the tougher sp's not gulps.

I would be armed with a couple of packs of Snapbacks and superglue them to the jighead . Anything else won't last very long at all.....
