Fraser Island in Feb

G'day all

We've got a pretty structured annual leave program at work and I've drawn to take my 3 weeks in Feb next year.

What would Fraser be like at that time of year? I suppose it could be rainy but more thinking what the fishing will be like?

Any advise would be great.

You can get dart there all year round. Might be some whiting. Maybe not so many tailor.
There's certainly risk of crap weather. Either rain or wind ... but I had a great time in Feb on Fraser a few years ago so it can be good too.
Take some bushmans in case there are march flies.

It will be HOT and there will be plenty of bugs about Should be good sized whiting in the gutters

Usually up there around Australia Day long weekend - it is hot - lots of march flies. Never had much of a problem getting dart / whiting on the beach... weed can be a problem and usual northerlies. Always get pipi's on the beach that time of year too.

Still, it is fraser island and a magical place - maybe a touch less magical then in winter !
