Hi Bob,
You can't do no wrong looking at the Hydrofields. They aren't as good as a cat but better than a mono. I might have opened up a can of worms here but my two bobs worth. And you still use only one donk so save money there.

Re: hydrofield
Great offshore Boat, Very safe riding for a little boat. If you can even have a look at the maybe even a 2nd hand 5.6 if you can afford it. One thing you need is always go max horse power on the hydro's as being underpowered in these boats is not good.

might pay to look a page or two back, there is a couple of threads concerning them, and comparing to cats as well.

Re: hydrofield
Hi Bob,
No I haven't got one, wished I did though. If I won Lotto that will be the first thing I'll buy. I have a Haines 565l which suits me pretty well. With a 125hp the boat should fly. From memory they were rated to 100hp.

Re: hydrofield
Hi Bob,
That awsome 5 is not underpowered at 125 hp. As duck said it will fly with a 125.
When the awsome was first released the demo was fitted with a 90 and it did the job well. The 5.6 has more beam and heaps more deck space, together with the extra weight it is a far better ride provided it is donked properly. It really comes down to the type of fishing you intend to do. The 5 is an economical way of getting great stability with a suitable ride but mainly suited to light offshore work.
The 5.6 with a 150 hp will handle the wider fishing.
Cheers.
