    Here we go.

There wouldn't be enough difference to worry about.

all depends, if one motor is going on a 4m boat and the other is on a 6m boat, its no brainier

IT all depends on which motor you own.

no difference, doesnt matter what engine you have if it is 115hp then its the same. cheers Lee

OK, so we assume the boats are identical, the motors are fitted and propped as manufacturer specifies, boat load is the same, then performance will be so close that it will not matter, is there a point to this?

I would say the Opti would have to be quicker for sure, due to its extra weight it would sink MUCH faster than the E-TEC

They actually do put out slightly diferent KW. Depending on your boat one may have a slightly better prop choice as a perfect match.

Who really cares about outright top speed - more of a concern about which one can keep your boat on the plane ecconomically and last years.

okay some opti owners may get on there high horse on this one i dont really believe it cause i wasnt there so to speak but was rather interesting non the less.. its quite amazing actually of the size difference between the two.

Lets just say for one, the Opti's are a more reliable motor.

I have a 175 Opti on my tornament bass boat...

Also, when looking at buying an ETEC look at the fine print...
