    where to go?

    hi all
    my brother and son are coming out for xmas/NY this year and looking for some where to go for beach camping, not keen on crowds but at this time of year not really much choice. looking at a few options;

    Deepwater National Park

    Eurimbula Nation Park

    Moreton Island, north of blue lagoon camp ground (northeast camping zone)

    any thoughts?

    cheers

    Al, personally Moreton would be the way to go, just make sure you book early as they now have limits on the amount of people on the island camping, contact EPA for bookings. cheers Lee

    Re: where to go?

    Last march we stayed at baffle creek for 1 week then headed up to 1770.
    We went via deepwater and stopped in at wreck rock...now if its somewhere where you want to get away from everything, thats the place.
    You will have to be very self sufficient, power, shower, toilet, everything. Its a fair drive back to any shop/garage.
    ill be heading back up to baffle next monday for another 2 weeks of fishing/crabing/drinking.

    cheers

    I'd vote for Moreton myself. I don't know a lot about the others - have visited wreck rock but fishing didn't look that promising from shore there. Moreton is a far bigger camping area and fishing (for dart) is pretty reliable.
    Book early for the ferry if you are looking at school holidays.

    Eurimbula is a wonderful place but can be a bit tricky to get into and out of if it rains. Been a few years since I have fished there and I think there is some regulation on crabbing there now. Deepwater never did anything for me so maybe Moreton is the go. Hope this helps Bruce
