    Borumba Dam

The report is a bit late but I managed to get up to Borumba early on Sunday morning targetting bass. I started out in the main basin where it wasn't hard to find some medium sized schools with small sized fish. Small fish was the order of the day, as it has been for my last six trips now. I was lucky to get a fish over 25cm for the whole 6 hour session and all those fish came from the main basin, nothing up in the arms. I fished the usual bassy looking points in the arms and some steep banks as well, with a variety of lures, for nought.

For the toga lovers I did see a few smaller fish working the sunny sections of the lake up in the arms.

This report is a mirror image of all reports for me over the last year at Borumba as I have not landed a fish over 35cm in the dam for a very long time. My theory is many of the bigger fish have gone over the wall. Has anyone out there been consistently getting a decent fish or two out of the dam? On the plus side there are plenty of smaller fish and huge amounts of bait in the system so the litte buggers should grow fast.

Thanks for the report mate....whats at the bottom of Borumba, would it be worth throwing a cast or two when the season opens ?

mate there is a lot of small fish in there at the moment but we had a comp there 3 weeks ago and there were a fair few over the 400 mark so hopefully this summer they will come out to play
