Trim Guages
Hi All
I have a 1992 johnson 70 hp 2st, do i have to buy a trim guage off that model or are trim guages interchangeable from model to model or even manufacturer to manufacturer .Everything is inplace on the motor and the wires are up to the dash just the guage is missing

Re: Trim Guages
Hi , the best would be to get the johnson gauge, most important to make it easy is to have all the wires mate up to the same colours, I think I have 6 wires on the back of mine,
send swampman62 a pm , he'll have the gauges for your motor, he has them for sale in the elect "classified" section,
ps , what hull is that? the bottom half looks the same as mine

Re: Trim Guages
Think dreemon is correct, due to the type of sensor use but still 2 brands could use the same variance i guess.
BTW why bother? trim meters are pretty useless, the seat of your pants will give you just as good feedback, if there already is a hole in the dash fill it with a water temp, water pressure, volts or even a fuel meter, the fuel meter pays of it's self fairly fast, the water temperature or pressure can pay for themselves many times over in around 5 seconds.

Re: Trim Guages
bugger, I just dumped two OMC trim gauges, I kept them for ages and could not see any use for them, so I ditched them 2 weeks ago. I could have posted one to you for free.
