    Awoonga 26/8

Went for a quick assult on the dam last night.Left the ramp at around 4.30 with about 10 knots of wind from the n/e.Headed up past N/Z gully .Fished a windy point for a few hours changing between a Tango Dancer,a Hollow belly riged with my Beak Creek jig heads ,and a Vibration blade.
Around 5.30 had a strike on the dancer but missed.Nothing new about this as they have a poor hookup rate,i just love the strikes on top water fishing. At just before 8.00 while slow rolling a Hollowbelly a solib hookup.10 minutes later i managed to net a nice 930mm barra.Great fun by your self. Continued for another hour with no result.
Changed points around 9.30 for a few throws before heading home.I had another strike but missed on the Hollowbelly before going back to the dancer.3 throws later a barra flying out of the water only to dive around a log, lost fish but freed lure.Next cast, another barra flying high but threw the hooks.3 casts later hit again came up tight,DAM CATABARRA. A few more casts and back at ramp by 11.00.
Great night out with the moonlight and wind droping off with the water temp up to 24.9.Looks like a good month ahead.Time to dust of the barra gear if you have not done so yet.
    Regards Stephen.
