    Re: What Leader

Mate i use single strand wire . Twisted tight in a wrap then swivel same as to the eye of the lure

Cant risk losing the Xraps on the sharp teeth of Spano's
I generaly use about metre of trace

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

Thanks JT. So you do a twist in the eye of the lure and then a swivel at the other end ?

    Cheers Phil

    Re: What Leader

Depends on where you are fishing for me.
I agree with JT and Yeppoon/ Capricorn Bunker Group north single stand, haywire twist with snap swivels hang on and giddy up but the further south you go the less prolific are the spanish/wahoo etc so I use multi strand on the high speed lures {10+ knots trolling} and translucent mono on low speed hard bodies.
The reason is at high speed the fish don't spook on the wire but at low speed I have had way more sucess on mono than wire even though I have dusted a few lures.
    More strikes is more fun!
Don't go overboard on size of mono cause they will bite through 150lb as easy as 50lb.
I have 50lb main on to a black crane 150lb swivel and 80lb leader using a perfection loop onto hard body lure.

    Good luck..
