Haven't been out to Hinze as often as normal this winter and when I have I havent had much success. This week I managed two quick late afternoon trips. As well as being electric only you are not allowed to fish at night.
Tuesday I managed a small Toga and this arvo 1 reasonable bass plus 2 small ones. Really quite happy with this afternoon as I was only the water for 1.5hrs and wasnt actually expecting to catch anything both times as I have had some sounder trouble and wanted to test run a new transducer. Water temp was up 4 degrees since tuesday. Water level had also dropped quite a bit as I believe they are still releasing water for the new wall construction.
The larger bass was caught on a spinnerbait cast to the edge. It fought hard and was quite a fat fish. Had a few other hits on the spinnerbait and no touches on jackells or blades. The other success was my ever reliable sub surface popper cast to the edges. The Toga was caught on a TN50. Both sessions were at the Mudgeeraba end in the same little bay and not the basin. - cheers Richard
