    wire in knife jigs

    Hi All,

Just started into jigging with knife jigs. I live up north and with all the toothy critters have lost a few fish that bit through the rope(???). I have done a search and in all the photo in previous post I could not see any with multi strand wire.

Can anyone tell me if they have done this and how they rigged it up. Also does it effect the jigs action too much.

    A photo would be great.

    Cheers

You can buy the wire assists if you prefer...

    MO tackle have them.......shogun brand.

or you can always make them up yourself.....Something like an owner SJ41 11'0 with single strand.

I have heard of people using a number of split rings joined together as well. Haven't done it myself so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

    Cheers,

    Thanks for the info.

I made my own up and fitted them to the jigs. Gave them go on Monday but only got one hit.

I have seen and heard of before using split rings and swivels instead of that cord. Not sure how effective it is but i could imagine it would be bloody strong. Goodluck i hope you get onto a few.
