email address in PMs

A member PM'd me his home email address so that I could forward some maps to him. When his PM arrived his email address showed his user name but ISP provider part of the email address ie the bit after the @ sign came out as all hash strokes.
He resent it in another PM and same thing happened.
Is there some sort of web marshall that filters out email addresses in the PMs or is there some other problem.
Any one else had this problem?

There is a filter that takes out certain web addresses in a manner such as you mentioned. Obviously this ISP has been blocked by the filter.

thanks MOD5. Thats what i figured must have been happening. Is y a h oo one of the ISP providers that is blocked. Someone sent me their email address that was with bigpond and that came through allright
