Patterson River shore fishing (VIC)
Gday everyone,
New member here.. been fishin for years on end but never really thought to come to a forum for tips, how surprised I am with the excellent info
headed to the patterson river for a fish tonight, only a few nibbles and a toady in about 3 hours. havent fished that area before, usually around willamstown and cbd area, due to that being my local area.
i am curious as to what bait and rig would be most useful in the patterson river outlet area, i was using bass yabs and pilch to no real avail, with size 4 longs n 6lb line..
could be the wrong time of year, but I saw a couple of other people fishing close by and they were at least managing a couple bream here and there.
cheers for any advice!

Gday mate, I am not familiar with your area but personally prefer no 6 short shanks for that type of fishing, stick to the 6lb line and fish as light a sinker as you can for the prevailing conditions. Always helps to have a variety of baits on hand and always some flesh bait(salted or otherwise), can increase your variety as well.
I am sure someone with a bit of knowledge of the VIC scene will contribute something for you !!
