Out fished and copped it

With the buet whether yesterday decided to take the family up to Bribie for lunch and a fish, not knowing the area very well we headed right after the bridge and found a good little spot near the jetty,
Just to let you all know I had my wife, 4 yo boy and 10 month old little girl so I was never thinking of doing too much fishing myself.
I threw the rod out for my boy and resumed putting up chairs, umberella's, towel out..... you know how it goes only to turn around to see my son with rod buckeld over and him backing up the sand trying to land the monster that turned out to be a very healthy little bream around 28cm. Normally at about this time he is content to look at the fish in the bucket for 5 mins before releasing back to HIS MUMMY.... but he almost threw the rod at me and said hurry up new bait, the next fish wrapped him around the poles on the jetty (which he called for a huge snapper) so instead of re-rigging that rod I handed him my new stradic 4000 on the equally new diawa terria rod and a few words of caution re. said new outfit and he was off, end tally he caught 4 bream all legal and all released and to his great amusment no one else on the jetty (about 30 ppl) seemed to be catching anything.
I copped it the whole way home home and all night how he outfished me. 4 - 0
For all of you how have been thru this will know I could not believe how much enjoyment I got from watching him fishing.
Needless to say as I dropped him at kindy this morning he was counting down the days till the weekend....LUV IT.

nothing better than watching little ones catchin fish,and a tip the older they get the more they rub it in when you get outfished by them,my youngster out fishes all my mates and he gives it to them all day...good read

Excellent stuff - my kids were the same on Saturday too - whilst trolling, son and his friend catch 2 flathead each, they both laughing at me saying it is 4 to them and nothing to me (whilst I drive of course!). I didn't care - thats why I took the little buggers - to show them a great time. Good report! I thought there for a minute your son was going to drop that Stradic in the water. Using that sort of gear - he'll expect an upgrade now from his outfit.! Top stuff. Cheers, Darren.
