    The Hards 15/08/09

We headed out some 28 miles out of Noosa to fish the Hards aboard Trekka 3. On previous trips with Fishing Offshore Noosa we fished up around DI so this was different.

We managed to jag some good weather today with winds around 10knts we made good time aboard there new cat Trekka 3. Fishing was a little slow but managed to get everyone onboard a feed. Trekka 3 is an awsome boat easily fishing 16 in comfort.

We ended up with around 45+ fish between us with Squire/Snappery-Squire and Pearl Pearch making up the bulk of the catch. A few Parrot, Mosses and Hassaur making up the numbers.

The better quality fish came from 7 inch Nuke Chooks floated down, followed by whole dead Yakkas on a snood rig. After an hours bottom bouncing I changed from my heavy overhead rig to my Texalium 6-8kg spin rod with 3500 baitrunner with 20lb braid and Nuke Chooks with success. Dolphins and the occasional shark on the surface may have spooked the fish at most spots but overall a great day on the water.

If your after a good offshore charter out of Noosa give Fishing Offshore Noosa Charters a call.

    A few pics attached.

Thanks Black Rat. I've been wondering how me ole stomping groung has been fishing, its been a while since I've been out there. Plenty of reports on the banks but not much heard of the hards. Pity about the number of fish but by the looks of it, it must have been a bloody nice day out there.

    Cheers

Thanks Black Rat, it has seemed a little quite up there as well lately.

Kezza, a bloke that works for me goes up there a bit and of late has been going to Wide Cal and getting more fish.
