Schuey, good to see, you did better than us, we went from Mooloolaba and came home at 6pm from banks in a 15kt SE.
Had a mate go to Coolumn this morning and did no good either, well done.

Hadnt gone for a fish for a month so thought I would head out Friday hoping it being a weekday would be nice and quiet out there. I was either going to fish Friday or finish building the chicken coop so once Brownies dropped the outside forecast from a 15/20 SE change to a 10/15 I was gone. Chickens can wait.
Leaving from Spinnaker the passage and bay was beautiful and thought it would be a ripper outside, and it was. Great conditions all day with the SE kicking in about 5pm. The drifts were a little frustrating as the drift line kept changing, north - south, south - north and even east - west but i perservered and had to move around a bit.
Got onto this good show in the Lowrance photo which produced a 4-5 kilo snap but shortly after that the party dissapeared and I had to keep moving around for a few more. As I run a 15 footer and often fish solo I dont have room for a tripod so you can see I've tried to take a shot of the snap once I caught him.
On the way home with a few beers there was an awesome show put on by the whales. One of the best I've seen before. Whales rising vertically and crashing one after the other. Top day.
Schuey.

Well done Troy, you must have been chuckling to yourself watching those whales, beer in hand and thinking of everyone at work!
Nice to see even the old sole get thrown in the bag
The lowrance shot shows the fish quite high in the water column, did the larger snap fall to a snood?
Mark
Now that is a Monster Snapper - great stuff. Love that fish. Water looks awesome and flat. Cheers, Darren

Awesome Schuey! I cant think of anything better... catching some quality fish esp. that snapper, a day on the water fishing and watching the whales with a beer instead of being at work... lucky ba$#ard.. lol GOOD STUFF!

Thanks fellas for the replies.
Tony - I also found it a bit hard going out there and had to move around a bit. Alot of pickers and undersized. At least you got out there and had a crack.
Mark - didnt take him on the snood. He fell to mullet flesh on the drop. Snood was pretty quiet mate, tap tap tap....
tasty bag u got ur self there. Mate can u tell me what the orange fish is sitting near the sole thanks. Wayno
Wayno - that sucker is a pigfish
