Hobzees, The Four Wheel Drive Shop, My Experience

On the 14/7/09, I bought a full length steel roof rack for my 2005 Patrol from these guys. It was a "buy it now" deal and I paid on the spot via Pay Pal. Price was $695 and freight quoted for regional Queensland was $155. I therefore paid $850.

When I hadn't received the rack by the 23/7/09 I phoned the Melbourne office of the seller. They told me they'd look into it and get back to me. At 1447 same day I received an SMS advising me that "rack got overlooked and going fr syd friday". Friday being the next day.

While I wasn't happy, I thought fair enough these things happen.

Yesterday (6/8/09) I still hadn't received the roof rack, so I again phoned the Melbourne number. I spoke to a female who said everyone was out but she'd get someone to call me. I explained the situation and advised that if I didn't receive it today then I would seek reimbursement from Pay Pal and lodge a complaint with e Bay.

At 1708 yesterday I received an SMS advising; "There was a delay with supplier but it was sent direct from supplier in sydney to you yesterday or this morning. I shall get a tracking number tomorrow and send."

I replied via SMS stating that that wasn't good enough and that I wanted a full refund. I then tried to phone the mobile number from which the SMS was sent, but there was no answer, so I left a message. I then phoned the Melbourne number again and spoke to a male staff member. I explained the situation, advised I wanted a refund immediately and that I would lodge a complaint with e Bay and Pay Pal.

About 30 minutes later the same person phoned me back to advise he had discussed this with his boss and that my money would be refunded tomorrow sometime. I told him how annoyed I was with the entire situation.

Today I did get a credit for $850 to my Pay Pal account.

You can draw your own conclusions with respect to the customer service level of this seller, but being in the customer service game myself, I rate it as extremely poor.

Hope no one else experiences this from them.

    Dave.

That is completly shocking customer service! To advise you of whats going on via sms is just plain ba form, and extremly unprofessional.

Im take customer service very seriously. If I get bad service somewhere, I dont go back, as im sure you wont buy with them again either. But Im also big on listerning about others bad experiences, and have taken note of your situation. After hearing that, I too will never do business with that company.

Here's my rant for the day. Today im getting an ARB front bar fitted to my Pajero. When I went to drop the car off this morning, I walked into the store and the only staff member visible was behind the counter, talking to a customeron the phone. He did not even look up at me or acknowledge I was even there. He just completely ignored me. It would have been nice for him to simply look up, smile and gesture that he would be with me shortly. But nothing, just completely ignorged me for over 5 minutes while he gave out quotes over the phone, to a customer who may/or may not even buy anything. Finally another staffer came out and handled the vehicle drop off.
I asked them to call me as soon as its finished. I know it's only 3:15pm, and they still have til 5 to get it done, but if it gets to 4:30 and I have to call them to ask if its done, they are going to have one unhappy customer! Rant over.

brought a compressor and air tank from hobzees, I found them to be easy to deal with. had offered a price for the gear via ebay. they took the offer but miss read it. when they sent the invoice I queried the price, they checked back the email and still gave it to me at the lower price

I shouldnt be saying this, but Australian businesses have bloody aweful customer service/ relation. I dont want to paint everyone one wih the same brush, but until you have recieved personal counter service in the US or Euroupe then you know exactly what Im talking about

I noticed this on Outerlimits 4x4 today.
I was Overcharged $20.00 odd dollars some time back on postage of a small package by Hobzee and others on outers have complained about the same postage rip offs.
