Re: A DAy Out With The Boys

that rod just looks so good as u holding in arms i bet it looks even the better in action

how long is it and what line class is it ?
    Hi My Way,

Thanks for your comments. The rod is 7 foot long and it does feel great under pressure. The S10 H is a 6 to 12 Kg rod but I have caught sharks on it up to about 80 KG ( I didn't pull the shark into the boat to weigh it)

    Hi Scotty,

If the JEWIE was just 6" long it would have been a jewie. That was my first ever Jewie on the reef. I still love you!!!!!.

If you or any of the boys need any ice Frank, whether it be party, block or dry ice(48 hrs notice required) let me know and i'll look after you where I can.
    Hi Rod,

Thank you for your kind jesture. Please send me a PM with your details.

    Hi Poodroo and Scalem,

Glad to see you enjoyed your day out. Hope you learnt a bit while you were out there. The most important hint I can give people is that if there are no fish showing underneath, don't bother fishing.

That was one other thing that was going wrong Frank, my sounder kept losing its bearings and showing .2mtrs and 4 meters without any soundings of fish at all. Tried all sorts of things. Reboot several times, occasionally it came good, only to go nuts several minutes later and lose track of the bottom. So I had a look at the transducer which is a through hull, not external mount. While it is glued in place and all seemed good in that department and the depth bottom lock was set to 40mtrs, there was a small amount of water from spray sloshing around where the transducer is mounted. The bildge pump is about 6 inches away from the transducer, so I turned it on to get the water out and it seemed to fix it. I hope that's all that was wrong, or it will be going back to Humminbird under warranty. This was another reason ( excuse) I could not settle into fishing, half the time I was flying blind and trying to reset the BL#$#%@!! thing, but the GPS worked regardless. Anyone have any suggestions or had this happen?

I break mine if I crush it in the car door, snap it on the roof of a charter boat or let my wife Sheila wrap the line around the tip when she catches AJs. Other than that they seem to be great.

Just one hint. All carbon fibre rods do fracture if you drop them or lean them on the side of the boat as you bash your way out to your fishing spot. I lean mine on the soft padded sides of the boat.

If you would like me to take your claim to Eric, please PM me with the facts about the breakage. Who knows what might happen.

Na Thats cool probably right with the leaning against the side of the boat thing i am just shit out of luck lately
