Maybe RS components will have what you want - see http://australia.rs-online.com/web/s...hTerm=AGX-30+-

If you change to 3AG or other style or a cct breaker make sure that it will fit in the space safely and that the fuse or breaker is FAST ACTING -

    From http://www.circuitprotection.ca/fuseology.html

Fast-acting fuses have no intentional built in slow-blow and are used in circuits without transient inrush currents. Fast-acting fuse opens on overload and short-circuits very quickly. This type of fuse is not designed to withstand temporary overload currents associated with some electrical loads.

    Thanks Mike

I can buy the fuses through RS ..... they are not a stocked item - i went out there yesterday & the guy had never seen one of these fuses ( but I had the details - so he could order them - 10 minimum.

I think I may have a problem with one of the outlets on my charger

"I think I may have a problem with one of the outlets on my charger"

I would check all connections in the charger including the fuse holders for loose or dry joints - joints that have become loose or the solder is not doing its job properly as such connections can and will get hot and the fuses will rupture if they get too hot especially if the fuse is a fast blow type as in this case

When you get it working it should be possible to use a digital voltmeter to measure any volt drop across the connections. This test must be done with the charger actually charging a battery.

Measure the volt drop across the fuse also - fuses have been known to have faulty/ dry joints inside them

The check connection light is on ( one outlet) - but the connection looks good

When I put in a second fuse ...... it blew just on connecting it ( without the power on) - so something is stuffed on one outlet of the charger ( the second outlet is fine - charging the second battery)
