Fishing great sandy straights

Hi all,

My brother and our little ladies will be chartering a houseboat out of Tin Can in October (we've done it once before, it was fantastic) but this time we'll be taking our own boat as a tender so the area will be more accessable for fishing, we'll probably try to anchor at gary's anchorage because it's a great spot, is there anyone who has experience fishing this area that can give us some advice??

Last time we caught a 98cm mulloway, sharks, rays and the usual ie bream, lizards, whiting etc oh and a lot of (let me get this right) "Purple spotted Bristle worms"

But we're hoping to catch some reefies or pelagics if they're around.
