Been working on this on and off or the last few months wheni've has few moments. Did the whole thing in alloy. 8 foot bed/track, 4 supports. The motor actually spins at 1300 rpm but has a gearbox on the fron't back to 70 rpm so HEAPS of torque. Wired up an old sewing machine foot pedal to it. Supports have a spring arm which you can tighten if you want. Did the pvc cap, 3/8 bolt chuck deal. Just got to work out how my thread carriage thingo is going to work and all done. Total cost about $160. Seems to work an absolute treat so far. Spinning a 24kg sabre in the pic. Although i only wrap at 70rpm its heaps fast enough for me so as to get a good close neat bind. Can't believe how much faster it all is with the motor and an extra hand!!
