    Lowrance Broadband and HB-SI Transducers

Looking at the Hummingbird SI transducers they seem to be 200/83 hz for the 5 inch models. The Lowrance HDS-5 broadband transducers are mostly shown as 200/83 for freshwater and 200/50 for saltwater, apparently not the same transducer that is switchable from 83 to 50. I noticed this while searching for information on the Lowrance structure scan . Can anyone clue me up on why Lowrance makes a 200/50 also 200/83 yet H'Bird only seems to have a 200/83. Thanks.

I got a short email this morning saying the Lowrance 200/83 transducer is for shallow water and the 200/50 is for deep water not salt and fresh as shown on a USA Ebay sellers listing. Raises a few more??? cheers
