Furuno 620/585
Hey all, just wondering if anyone with one of these sounders, or this brand of sounder has had any problems with the plugs that connect into them.
Myself, when i first bought it, with in a month the cable had completely seperated from the plug on the transducer, then just last night the power cable seperated from the plug to.
Maybe i just got luck of the draw and got a bad batch, has it happened to any of yous?
cheers,
Chris

I haven't had any problems with my 620 that I've had for almost 2 years now. I have it in a tinnie and have to take it out a fair few times and the plugs and leads are still all good. They have a 2 year warranty and the blokes at Tailor Mairne are pretty good, I'd say they would give you new leads.

Yeah mine is just going on 12 months old, but the service i have had is excellent from the fellas at bias boating in townsville. They replaced leads both times, i think i just got luck of the draw and possibly got a bad batch.
Otherwise the sounder is going great, can pick up a pubic hair on the sea floor lol.

Hi Gilli
No problem with the leads but when pulling out the plug on its first use one of the pins came with it. Just be careful each time you connect the plugs.
Not covered by warranty and if you need to replace one of the pins that might just happen to break off through no fault of your own then you're looking at 300 bucks plus.
Although we have a broken pin it has been checked over by furuno and works perfectly well without the broken one.

Re: Furuno 620/585
thanks for the tip ronnie. I think one of the major problems is that furuno are making cheap leads, they r stripped back at one end for power n what not to be connected to, on my replacement one of the cables is cut as of dodgy cutting of the outer sheath.

I have a problem with one of the plugs being tight. Did not start tight. Have loosened it up a bit with inox. Apart from that, no probs with mine.
