HI all
I know this has beend talked about a thousand times before BUUUT.
I am looking at Connecting my twin 2006 140 hp Suzuki's to my Lowarance 7200.
I ahve phoned a few local supplies and 2 parts of knowhere.
I think i need a starter kit for the lowrance and 2 x EP20 adaptors for the motors.
Is there anythiing else I need?
Where in H&^% can I get all this from, as all local suppliers look at me as though I am talking swahealy.
an ep20,
lowrance backbone nmea 2000 cable
2 x 120ohm terminators, lowrance nmea 2000.
2 x tpeices, (head unit, ep20)
1 x small extension to your unit.
You also need to be aware that the backbone cable colour and connection has changed, from blue to red, have a look at the back of your unit and see wether the NMEA network connection is red or blue, you can get conversion cables.
approximate cost was around the $500.00 mark when I did it for parts.
you can get the NMEA cables locally, brisbane : trymax marine or Wynnum Marine or any Lowrance dealer. (cheaper from browns point by more than 50% on what we pay here)
Example, here 25' extension cable, 125.00 browns point, 22.58 USD.
I realised to late and bought all the backbone gear here first.
Have a read of the following thread, blackarrow and I both got the same result via different connection methods.
but I suspect CCdrifter you will want to know this as well,
The wiring between the yamaha guage harness plug and the suzi conversion cable. 4 on the square yam plug 3 wires on the round suzi connector.
The Pin outs are as picture 2 (connector on the bench), so you can see what I have drawn as the top of each connector. The third picture shows the pin outs from the end of the connector, pretty easy to see which is connected.
