weed in the estuarine environment, cabbage off the ocean rocks.....both near the entrances to the rivers, breakwalls etc. They can be very picky on the day....sometimes they like the real fine stringy stuff, other days the flatter cabbagy weed, then there is the brown weed. on dusk when the light gets a bit ordinary....a small live yabby is deadly, as is a small live prawn/shrimp. The emphaisi is on small as they have a very small mouth compared to body size....though in the Clarence if you are a bit further up stream near the fish co-ops......cooked prawn heads are absolutely the number one bait for BIG luderick.
