Any tips for port douglas

G'day guys, am trying to organise a trip up to see a mate at port douglas and was thinking bout taking the haines so we can get out and do a bit of fishing as I hear its pretty awesome up there.

Am hoping some of you guys with local knowlege of up there might be able to point a newby in the right direction with any tips,locations or marks greatly appreciated.

Thanks Darren yeah I know mate, is a fair hike so am guessing will prob only do it the once.... will prob take me the whole week to get up there...

gees if your going to tow it that far you may as well have a fish at a few spots on the way up and down .or leave it at home and just go on charters the cost for charters would near on equate to the extra fuel and dramas towing the boat
