Buying Bonito?

Hi All,
Is it possible to buy fresh Bonito (for bait) as opposed to the frozen ones in the bait freezers?
If so, any ideas where one might get their hands on some between Southport and BrisVegas (south side)?

try some of the Asian stores/supermarkets , i have found that a lot of these have bonito , i use it for bream fishing ( they love it )

But, yeah, tried some bait cut from a frozen Bonito on the weekend, and was absolutely amazed at how quickly the bonito was being hit compared to any other bait we were using... Of course, next weekend will probably be a different matter all together....

you could try your local fish monger, Charis sea foods at labrador might have them. we usually just catch our own, there is plenty around at the moment

Ring Mick at Gem bait/ Yatala and tell him you are after the fresh stuff before it gets frozen down, thats how I got my last lot, he had just received it(caught the night before) and it was super fresh.
