bait grounds mooloolaba to barwon banks

Hi Looking to head out of mooloolaba to the Barwon banks for the first time this Sunday, just wondering if anyone can help with some general gps areas where I can pick up some livies on the way out.

Also what species can I expect to encounter besides snapper.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Re: bait grounds mooloolaba to barwon banks

I have seen this post sitting here since yesterday with no replies. I know there are several general areas for bait out to the Barwons - 8mile, 10mile, 18mile, 21mile etc. Should be some general area marks for these floating around somewhere on the web. Try SCGFC website.

Otherthan that, the topic of bait grounds off Mooloolaba comes up every few months on ausfish and it is worth doing a search to find past threads.

This time of year try the mooloolaba shark nets, kawana shark drums and out from point cartwright. Until now the bait in close has been scarce but I fished the other arvo in close and the yakkas were there in big numbers so things may be on he improve.
