    yalta 555 engine stats

hey guys i know there are yalta 555 owners on this site. if i was to get one i was thinkin of putting a 150hp yammy 4 banger on the back. would even consider a 115 yammy 4 stroke. If any one has one of these rigs with these engines i would love to hear what cruise, wot speeds you get and fuel consumption.

    cheers buca t

if you have a 150 4/s the hull would need to be re-rated... too heavy

i have queried marine tune on this subject, yet they say it can handle a 4 stroke 150 as the transome is exactly the same as the 615 odessa. but i have heard that the 150 is over the max trnsome weight. I have called the yaltacraft builder as well asking for a max transome weight and neither them or marine tune will give me an exact kg figure.

Thats an interesting response from the dealer and the manufacturer. There are a few guys on here with the 115 4 stroke and seem quite happy with them. Honda 900 has a 140 suzy which I think he is pleased with. Personally if I were to repower mine I would go a 135 Opti or a 130 ETEC. Just that bit more punch with the 2 strokes for crossing those pesky bars. How much do the 150 VMax weigh? Maybe another option if you need to purchase a Yammy.

    Re: yalta 555 engine stats

My 555 has a max transom weight of 200kg on the compliance plate.

    I have the 115 4S Yammy.

Speed wise (2 adults 2 kids on board):
    4200 rpm is 22mph
    5000 rpm is 30mph
    6000 rpm is 40mph WOT

As far as consumption goes these are estimates:

    At 4000 rpm 19 LPH
    At 4500 rpm 23 LPH
    At 5000 rpm 27 LPH

With a 150L tank the range is great.

My 555 (2006) has a transom weight of 190kg on the plate.

The Yam 150 is 221kg, there are very few engines other than the zuke that can make this weight scale in the 115-150 range. I purhased mine with a 130 yam (great engine) just a thirsty for long range trips. I would have no problems buying anther Yam.

12 months after buying it I changed the engine because of fuel range problems, 1 litre a kilometre for offshore work. Did a lot of research at the time, and the zuke was the only thing for power and weight to fit, (had to be same or better than what I had).

It has taken a fair bit of work to get the zuke propped right but it goes just as hard as the yam 2- did with the same amount of blokes /gear on board. however the 4 blade prop allows me to run on the plane at 3200rpm which is great offshore, and no where near as much on and off the throttle.

I have the ep20 installed so fuel figures are from the engine. Regular trip from manly to off shore through south passage is 170km, for around 70 litres of fuel, 3 blokes and more gear than you can poke a stick at..

    Solas 14 1/8 *18 - 4 blade

speed in KPH from the GPS

    Speed Fuel LPH
    1000 6.8 1.4
    2000 10.9 5.8
    3000 16.4 11.4
    4000 36.3 17.4
    4500 44.8 20.3
    5000 49.6 26.8
    WOT-6000 63.5 40.1
    Hole shot <= 2

Hampo (ausfish member name) has a 150 yam on the back of his 555 may be able to give us some stats on the 150.

    Re: yalta 555 engine stats

Hi Buca, sorry for the late reply.

    I do have the Yam 150 4 St on a 555.

The compliance plate on my boat has a MAX engine weight on 220kg, allowing me to run the 150.

Rough perfomace figures from the gauges and the GPS are:

    3200rpm 40km/h
    4000rpm 50km/h
    5000rpm 60km/h
    5500rpm 68km/h
    6100rpm WOT 76km/h

    Averages about 1.8/1.9km/h

Cruises beautifully at 5400 going about 65km/h

    Feel free to ask anything
