    'True Blue' reborn

it wasn't my first option as I wanted to buy a new and much bigger boat, but thems the brakes..... so the old girl got a face lift

Biggest challenge was to get the targa to fold down so that she would still fit into the shed - mission accomplished. It takes about 10 minutes to pull off the clears and fold down the top.

Still have to mount antennas and lights etc, so not finished, but its good to see a big step forward.

No more copping a face full of water................

Nice job mate, at first I couldn't see how it folded down, very clever.

5.3m mate, but that the old school measurement, transom to point of bow, not including boards, motor or bowsprit.

fuel is my only issue for long trips now. The old yamy 2 stroke is reliable, but thirsty.

If I was going to upgrade motors she would get a 150 hp optimax for fuel economy without too much weight on the transom, but until I use her more and either fuel costs or range become a serious issue, the saltwater series Yammy 130 2 stroke will keep going strong

Hi Phil, It was done at greens Marine and the clears were done next door to them at Sothside trimmers. They come highly reccomended buy everyone that uses them.

Still looking at some stiffening in the gunwales. They said it doesn't need it since they decided to connect the main uprights to the side rails, as it became quite stiff.

I think I will put some more support inside there though, just to make sure

    Phil
Come and have a look at her some time mate. Since he worked out how to do mine, yours wouldn't be too much different.

    cheers
