    mid range jigging reels

I can't afford over $1000 for a Stella or Saltiga. So i'm looking at the Saragosa 18000, Okuma V80A or even the asian Okuma SA10000. any other reels out there inthe jigging range? what have people tried and what seems to hold up to the job?

Spheros 14000fa with the drag and bearing upgrade and add the stella handle, I am not sure why but people rate this better than the saragosa, or perhaps the ryobi safari might be worth a look

I have a drag upgraded spheros (without the Stella handle though) and the drag let me down on a hoodlum king recently. so it will now become my a beach fishing reel.

Hands down if you want the performance of these reels but not the price GT range from Banax. All machine cut brass gears and pinion. Shielded precision bearings, tough as.

My spheros also has the drag upgrade and has caught tuna (25kg) trevally (14kg) mackerel and kings (to 20kg) and is fine fish of ths isze were caught prior to the upgrade with no drama.

The Ryobi Safari is getting great reviews on some OS sites so could be worth a look as would the ########## Diablo

I've got a safari 5000 coming - for around $300ish I rckon good value for money - plenty of darg and retrieve, heaps of grunt. Swano has been using one for a while and its been going wel, he's monstered some very big AJ's on it and its standing up O.K.

    cheers
