i hope the owners have misplaced their tinny, not a case of the tinny misplacing its owners.

I'm interested to know if it's the same tinnie that drifted away from Pancake Creek at Easter time, poor guys awoke in the morning to find it gone.

Hope it isn't a anchor stuck gone wrong. They can really let go if teh rope snaps close to the boatnand put a tinny off balance.

Was't called marie celeste was it?

My guess is the boat was registered so chasing up the rego should lead to the owners, hopefully alive and well.

    Re: Who lost their tinny?

This is my take on it from listening to VHF21 all day yesterday.

First thing in the morning there was a Notice to Mariners issued for vessels to keep an eye out for a 5m tiller steer boat. Late in the day Shane Steer the skipper of the charter boat In the Black out of Redcliffe found a boat matching that description in 105m of water and was towing it home. It had Wahoo written on the side but I guessing it was probably one of those 5m Wahoo boats made down at Woongoolba or whereever they are made. The anchor rope was hanging straight down but didn't have enought rope to be anchored out that wide. There was nothing sinister as they were talking about the owner meeting In the Black when it hit Redcliffe. I am guessing it came adrift from somewhere, the owner found out and notified the authorities and that is why the Notice to Mariners was issued.

I noticed it tied up at the coast guard jetty this arvo.....looks like a glass boat, not a tinny. Had the name 'Wahoo' sign written on the side.

Will ask shane about it tomorrow night at the fishing club meeting.

Hi Sleepy... want to know all about it... It was me talking to "In the Black"..

but as you all know under Article 17 of the ITU Radio Regulations it prohibits the unauthorised interception of Radio Communications not intended for the general use of public...HOWEVER,

it does not apply to the broadcast of distress, urgency or safety traffic addresses to all stations...

but then I don't need to tell you about that.

only to say - all is well with all concerned and thanks to "In The Black" for helping Water Police and the owner..
