I wonder if I could pick a few brains. Weather permitting I am heading out to Peel Island, South West Rocks Sunday arvo. A mate of mine reckons it is a good spot alothough he probably knows less than me about the area.
Any info would be good. Target fish, rigs, bait, plastics.
I have already checked it out on the Map Source software and given myself a GPS waypoint to head for. A guess but a starting point
they recon sw rocks is a good spot for squire...havent fished it often at all i prefer further north....
just watch out as its in a yellow zone for 2meters at low tide ... 2 lines per person and slow speed...
its not far from the famed 'houseboat' never caught much there either but.....
worth a try... ill be up rainbow passage for the high, might stop in swr for the run out... wave if u see me... ausfish stickers on green cab....what r u in ??
id fish standard stuff 20lb/20lb (i probably fish a little heavy) 1/8 to 1/16 gighead nuclear or tandori chicken maybe 3" shrimp...... then maybe a ganged pilly/pike drifted out the back (you never know)..
have fun
cheers chris
ps... weathers gonna be great... 10 to 15 knots no rain....
if heading out from vic point dont speed through the overly huge green at pt halleron/ eprapah... it goes way over to banana banks....go round it...

Reason: ps
Fish anywhere between the two beacons on the South West side....look for water around 5m in depth.....I have sounded around there but not much shows up on the sounder.....don't let no show on the sounder turn you off....there are fish there....I find that once traffic starts to get too busy the fish turn-off....if your using bait - try fresh squid....makes it a bit harder for the pickers to take it all....
Be sure to post any success....
