I have near 400 hours on my 250, and it looks barely used. I guess I have plenty of life in it yet...
When you think about it, a well used engine of this size ($35 grand-ish) should be producing a lot of hours, regardless of brand. I suspect that one could consider it "run in" by 1,000 hours if it's getting a couple of hundred a year.
