    Gday Dave,
Did you notice the ride into a head sea change much with the spray rails on the chines? Does it just throw the water straight out the side now, instead of up and out?
    Are they expensive?

we met up at peel island ,and went to amity point ,the bar was still closing out with 3 to 4m swell so we didnt cross, which was a shame ,we had been postponing the test for a month due to the weather ,i was running a full 600lt of fuel around 500lt onboard when these shots were done, just off amity point at the back of the bar.i wasnt driving crazy ,still sitting down ,luv the suspension seats
Good to see this boat getting a little bit of air. Long over due IMO.

Look forward to more pics, vids and the article when released.

myles the ride is a little firmer into a head sea ,but only i notice it ,it lifts the bow about 10 inches higher at 8 knts which i love when trolling ,stops a lot of spray coming over ,90% reduction in spray i reckon.doesnt affect the boat in any other way .it just cuts the spray straight out sideways ,im sure you will see it working when the video comes out .
the rails just double sided tape onto the hull and then you inject an epoxy glue in them ,which bonds them permanetly.
have a look at thier web site .smart rails .com. all the info is there.cost around 1 k landed, freight was 250 i think off memory, but well worth it imop.
and spiro i should of flown you up for the day,you would of loved it,and im sure you would of got her a little higher than me lol

not sure we got a wot flat water shot fed ,it was interesting watching other people drive my boat ,the 233 isnt a hull you can just feel comfortable with straight away .its fairly sensitive to weight movement being 24 degree deadrise ,i think it recorded 43 knts wot with 4 adults and 500lt of fuel on board ,i proably would of seen 45knts with more trim and me driving .you need to use the tabs a lot with people moving around etc .
compared to the cc685 ht which was the other boat with us on the day ,it seemed a much more user friendly family boat compared to mine which i would class as more a serious blue water fishing boat for the experienced boatie in comparison, the 233 is a hard core boat in every respect, and i can see why some love them and some hate them ,it was an interesting day seeing how they test boats and what they look at etc

I thought that was a pic of your boat on the Furuno Fanatics FB page. Looks good in flight. Bet the guys in the new Furuno cruise craft wished they could have swapped rides

thanks greg ,yeah the 233 is a big bruiser when you park in next to the 685.that new furuno tz touch mfd is an awesome bit of kit ,still not quite as big as my e140w though lol

    Re: my formula 233

well i made front cover of trailer boat ,which honestly surprised me
    https://myorder.magshop.com/subscrib...yorder_tlr.css
as there was no advertising involvement ,good honest boat test as well .
ive just finished a couple of little jobs ,the first was extending the wave breaker down the side windscreens ,because before the water would run around the corner and track under the side clear and drip on me and the controls etc ,so this and a sail track on the top of the front clear has totally sealed the clears of water penetration .
next was a bilge cover plate ,as every slimy mackerel i drop goes straight in there and is a pain in the ass too get out .
and i just swapped the gear boxes around to change prop rotation ,which has not only given me stern lift at all speeds i actually picked up 3 knts top end ,i was hitting the limiters at 48.6 knts yesterday ,so il try the 21p again they were 3mph faster than than the 19p just a little big so will be interesting to retry them .so after a year on the water and 250 hrs i think its 100% sorted lol

Nice move that gearbox swap, it makes really good sense too.

So give it a few months and she'll be on the market as you go bigger?

    Cheers

    Hey Opti,

What are you using - bravos or rev 4s?

Been thinking of try some of the rev 4s. Do you find they have noticeable stern lift? Can you plane slower?

    Re: my formula 233

Yeah rev 4,s they give great lift everywhere , turning them in really lifted the boat
