    Daiwa Baitcasters-cast Control

I would appreciate any feedback on the difference between Magforce V and Z on Daiwa Baitcasters.
From other info on here I have understood the difference between Z and PE however have been unable to locate any threads on V v- Z.
    Thanks

All you need to know can be found at

Personally, I prefer the V over the Z as on my Bass and Barra rods it seems to handle handle lighter lures better (< 10g). For heavier lures, there is little difference between the two, even though the Z is touted as being better for long distance casting. The type of spool bearing used has a much greater influence on casting distance and performance than whether the spool has V or Z braking. Ceramic ABEC 5s with a drop of low viscosity lube (eg Yellow Rocket Fuel, Oust or Team Daiwa) are the go.

    Thanks for the feedback.
The article has filled in all the gaps.
Who do you suggest as the best source for bearings.
    I appreciate your help.

I get mine from Smoothdrag.com in the US. Very fast service, minimal postage cost and they will set up an on-line payment facility for your order. Boca bearings also offer a huge range.

Make sure that order them DRY, otherwise they come packed with grease and you will need to flush them out.

You will need to make a spool pin removal tool. We copied the ones shown at

    They work a treat.
