    Brissy river, an odd ecounter

On the water bout 11:30 am this morning, put some pots in down near the airport, straight across the river from the ramp beside the water police, if you egt it. No luck but the pots didn't get enough time or the right time.
There was a dead pig floating down that small river though, thought it was an odd occurance, pretty sure the local bullies will clean it up though.
This was the first trip I have done without bait and only placcies and HB's. 1st cast and I had landed a 55cm flathead, at this point i was thinking i could handle this. Ended up being the only fish for the day.

Was wondering if i could get some tips on fishing near the mouth of the river there for snaps or jews with placcies or hb's. I could see bait on the bottom in about 16-17m of water over near where the coal loading area was but couldn't raise a strike.
Could just be one of those days but was jsut after a couple tips if it is possible, thanks.

Also putting the boat in, there was a friendly dolphin that was letting the kids actually touch it and hand feed it.

Don't know that much about the brissy jackson but have got a few small jew by finding good bait shows on the sounder and working 6-7in plastics down on the bottom with very slow hops. Ben

Mate if you can find good shows of bait close to the bottom in those 13-16 meter areas off the wharf your in the right spots. Bouncing a 3/8 th weight accross the bottom should normally find attention . Keep going with it . As for that pig, I think it may have been one of Dogsbody's disregarded Livies Cheers

It was a hint from the River God that you should be using bait.

Where is this boat ramp? My girl loves dolphins so we might have to go for a fish in the river and check out the friendly dolphin as well.

Likewise, I've never fished in the brisbane river and have been thinking about giving it a go - the address for the ramp would be appreciated.
