    AHHHH The dreaded NQ Fisherman.
Breed of their own I here...
Fearless in all swells, undaunted by wind and water...
No bait too big, no mack slug too small...
No beer too cold, no shapes box too old....
    Fish fear him...
    Women want him...
    The dreaded NQ Fisherman.....

Top effort Mozza, maybe the first of many we will see in NQ waters...

so, again, was it caught just out off cape cleveland?

An old man in Townsville told me about the occasional snapper that used to be caught out off cape cleveland, but only in one spot.

    cheers

That is a nice snapper, well done. Now seeing as though us Brisy guys sent that one up there, how about ya send a few big fingermark down this way....
    Marty.

Marty, c'mon, we've already sent jacks and XOS threaddies your way and even barra seem to be getting lost further south....

Mick, no idea, plenty of rubbly ground near the Cape, just one of the bigger bumps I found drifting.

A few 'old salts' I've spoken to have all agreed that there has been the occasional snapper taken in the area including Salamander reef. One bloke said thats the 4th he's heard of in 15 years.

It was a good day's fishing but livies seemed to be the winner - 3 Queenies around the metre mark and a 13kilo GT (my PB by far) fell to live bait while 1 Queenie fell to a metal slug. The only place we could get livies easily was Salamander but it wasn'y delivering much in the way of a fish - the Cape was firing better. The trouble was trying to get the bait down past the queenies.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

There is a simple explanation for this. They are just following where the best rugby league players are since the State of Origin.

    LOL NannyKing.

They've been quiet haven't they? It must be a hard pill to swallow...

The pics going to make a few rounds with the papers as it has generated a lot of interest up here. Hell, I reckon it should make a shoe-in entrant into the Hook, Line and Sinker comp as well.

Been catching them for years up here. Nice firm flesh which stays on ganged 8/0's for the reds and fingermark, barra, trout etc etc.
