Mine parks the trailer no problem, and holds the boat while I back down to retrieve it. Wish she could back it down the ramp so I could drive the boat on the trailer.
Wish she wouldnt catch more fish than me as well

MY misses has no problem reversing the trailer for me to drive on ,she hooks it up and drives off while i stay in the boat she actually does it better than most of the blokes i see down the boat ramp . she has never had a problem parking the car and trailer as well she is a GEM .......matt

The wife can back, and regularly parks the kevlacat trailer when we go out for family trips. Must admit she gets a few funny looks at the ramps, but she does it very well.

I used to take the tinny down the local ramp. Reverse it in, take it off the trailer, go park the car and when i come back --go ge tthe car, winch the boat up and drive off.
Isn't it funny the looks you get from the guys at the ramp. I even got a few claps one day-- those guys regretted doing it after the fella driving the car had about ten goes backing down the ramp.

Some of us maybe better than others at backing but it's the thought of helping you guys out that matters.

My wife is not getting near it. She has trouble just holding it when it is beached and always gets into a fluster so I just don't ask for help and do it all without fuss.

It's just not worth the grief.

I used to offer 'constructive suggestions' on driving techniques. These are taken as a personal affront.

I have learned..... When she returned home from work one day with a $200 speeding ticket and told me about it - I took a breath and said.... Uh, OK.

This was whilst she was watching me like a lion glares at the lion-tamer lookin for the slightest chance to attack.

I survived that one - unscathed.

i never used to to anything except hold the boat on the pontoon...id get flustered...over correct and jack knife the damn thing... ...but now with practice i can reverse down the ramp pretty well...i release and retreive our boat while Dave drives it onto the trailer...i always get a few comments on the ramp..."can you rub sholders with my wife...can you teach my wife to do that"...practice and patience from Dave was the key
